I hope your semester is off to a great start! You should be aware of a couple of important enrollment deadlines this week:

Wednesday, September 11 is the last day to drop a course without a notation on your transcript.

You have until Friday, November 1 to drop courses, but after Wednesday, September 11, dropped courses will appear on your transcript with a DR notation.

Friday, September 13 is the last day to add a course.

Although you can add courses until this Friday, you are responsible for coursework missed in the first 2 weeks of the semester. If you choose to add a course this week, speak with the instructor and establish a plan to catch up on course content and assignments you missed.

A couple of questions students frequently ask are:

      • What happens if I drop a class after September 11?
Your transcript will show the course and a DR grade notation (for DROP).
      • Is it really bad to have a DR on my transcript?
Having a DR on your transcript indicates when you dropped the course. In general it is not bad to have a DR on your transcript.
      • Who should I consult if I have questions about dropping/adding a course?
If you are unsure about the course material, talk with your instructor or teaching assistant (TA).

Paying attention to enrollment deadlines is extremely important. Feel free to reach out to Student Services <studentservices@epd.wisc.edu> with any questions.
