Here’s a link to an interesting interview by MIT Sloan Management Review with UW-Madison professor Laura Albert.  Professor Albert  is well known for her work in using  data analytics to  predict the College Football Playoff and college basketball rankings, all as part of helping her students understand the use of various statistical analysis tools and applications. The sports-focused analyses complement Dr. Albert’s primary research, which focuses on optimization to design and operate public sector systems, such as disaster response, and emergency medical services.
