Please initiate actions ASAP for your plans to attend Residency.  All the information you need can be easily accessed by selecting the drop-down menu under “MEM Resources” in MEM Community.

      Some immediate actions:

      ·       Be sure to reserve your hotel room ASAP, before holds on rooms expire.  See lodging options in Box.

      ·       Please RSVP (yes or no) via the Residency Googledoc sign-up sheet

Residency will begin with an informal welcome on Sunday evening, 8/11, at the Fluno Center.  Official Residency sessions will begin Monday, 8/12, 8AM at the Pyle Center.  Residency will conclude 4pm Wednesday, 8/14. The agenda for our time together will include workshops that complement and supplement your online coursework and opportunities for you to network and learn with fellow students.  Our keynote speaker for Residency will be Dave Franchino, CEO of Design Concepts, a highly respected product design and innovation consultancy with offices in Madison, San Francisco, and Boston.

Attendance at Residency is optional and highly encouraged for MEM students.  It’s an opportunity to fully prepare for the year ahead, enhance your professional network with fellow students, meet and learn with program faculty, benefit from leadership-focused workshops that go beyond your coursework, and have an opportunity to visit and appreciate the world-class university of which you are a full-fledged graduate student.

Perhaps a few of our current 2nd and 3rd year students would like to weigh in on the benefits of Residency.

If you have any questions at all about Residency, please post them to the Residency forum at MEM Community and I’ll answer then there for the benefit of all students.

Looking forward to meeting or reconnecting f2f with you,

      Wayne
